Notation:
The open beat: All the fingers strike the skin at the edge of the instrument. The dot: is for the left hand.
The masacote: This is a rocking motion between the palm and the fingertips.
(This note only represents the fingertips)
The square: is for the right hand.
The flap: The fingertips beat the skin causing a very high-pitched sound.
The bass: The centre of the skin is whipped by the entire hand in order to create a maximum of bass tones.
The open beat: This note represents a strike on the conga creating a sound as low as possible.
